China Slim Tea

June 4th 2007 05:18
China Slim Tea (aka 'Pooh Tea')This has probably been the most effective way for me to lose weight in a matter of days – as well as the most disgusting and the most dangerous.

For around AUD$5, you can buy a box of these slim teas in any Asian shop. They look harmless enough – 18 bags of black tea sitting in the box, promising you weight loss in a matter of days.

The box states that you saturate one tea bag or two in boiling water for two minutes and drink it after every meal. To sweeten the taste, you simply add honey.

Well, you can add a gallon of honey and it wouldn’t sweeten the taste. That is, if you can get past the disgusting smell. As soon as the tea bags are infused in water, an aroma would fill up the room, making you feel like you’re in a paddock with cow dung all around you.

It was so bad that when I brought the cup to my lips to drink, I had to refrain myself from vomiting. Then I developed the brilliant idea of drinking the hot tea through a very long straw. And the taste was almost as horrible as the smell but I forced it down. After sculling the tea for the first time – I drank it after breakfast, I sat there and I waited. I looked at the box to find out what was supposed to happen next. Nothing. Then I drank my second cup after lunch. Still nothing. After dinner – nothing.

Then at 11pm, I was getting ready to sleep when I felt this massive pain in my stomach. It’s the same feeling you get when you have a severe case of diarrhea. I rushed to the toilet, sweating, my knees shaking and feeling totally weak and dehydrated, wondering what was wrong with me. The pain was still there but nothing came out. I went back to bed, tossed and turned, willing the pain to go away. Occasionally, I would get out of bed to go to the toilet. And waited. Then returned to bed again. This went on for about an hour or two until finally, finally, everything I had eaten in the day just came out through the rear end. Everything and more. I had a restless sleep that night, waking up with an ache in my stomach, prompting me to go to the toilet again and again and again.

China Slim Tea

Still grasping to the promise of dramatic weight loss, for the next few days, I continued with the slim tea. But this time, I only drank one cup per day and I drank it at 11pm so I would at least have some rest for the night. The pain would come at 8 in the morning followed by an hour or two of just sitting and waiting. Finally, it would come. And throughout the rest of the day, everytime I put something in my mouth, I would literally have to go to the toilet afterwards. It only stopped at around 3pm.

After one week of this routine, I lost one kilo. I went from 56 to 48 in 3 months. At that time, I was elated. My wedding was coming up and I wanted to look slim. I didn’t care that the warning on the box mentioned that prolonged use would cause damage to the kidneys. I was willing to suffer through the smell, the disgusting taste just so I could walk down the aisle in a Size 6 wedding dress.

Then one morning, six months later, driving to work, I felt completely dehydrated. I was shaking, my hands gripping the steering wheel were white, I thought I was going to pass out – on the M4, no less! I managed to get to work in one piece and spent the next two days lying on the cold tiles of the toilet office, praying to God to let me faint already.

It was then I realised what I had known all along – this stuff is dangerous. So I stopped. But because my body had relied on the tea so heavily in the past six months, it took two weeks for me to be regular again.

Sadly, everytime I tell people about this Pooh Tea and its effects, their eyes light up. After all, you don’t have to exercise, you eat as much as you want and all you have to do is drink one cup a day and you lose weight almost instantly. They ignore the side effects – severe abdominal cramps, faintness, dizziness, dehydration, not to mention the effect it has on your bodily organs, not just your kidneys. Then they drink their first cup…

I just tried Slim Tea. I only let it steep for 1.5 minutes, not the recommended 2 minutes. After 1 cup, I noticed nothing. The next morning the toilet called with desperation. Then I was fine until just before dinner. Suddenly, out of nowhere, I had SEVERE abdominal cramping. The only thing I can compare it to is labor pain. SEVERE. This lasted all night long. I got no sleep. I tried walking around, rolling around, nothing worked. I took a Codone, 2 Tylenol and an Advil. NOTHING stopped the severe cramping. Then around 3am, the toilet beckoned. The cramps continued. I have never, with the exception of labor, been in so much pain. I will never use this product again.

You're only supposed to have ONE cup a day after a meal - preferably dinner and it's better not to drink it after 9pm. I used it for just over 2 weeks and I was fine. The initial cramping and stomach pains are a result of a concentrated amount of senna making it's way through your stomach and evacuating all the rubbish in your bowels. This should subside after about 2 days and if it doesn't, it does state on the box that you should discontinue use and see a doctor. Maybe the results wouldn't have been so harsh if you hadn't overdone it.

I have slim tea when i want to lose a few kilos. I suggest having it once a day, after dinner .. 1 teabag is enough. So if you take it at around 7pm, you'll wake at 5:30am with stomach pains. These disappear after you go to the toilet but you may have to go 3 times in the next few hours.

My mom has been using this tee for over about two years, she uses it when ever she wants to loose some extra weight. So she drink ONE tea bag after dinner, around 8 o'clock, and after that she wakes up around 6 and takes it all out! And it works she drops some pounds in just a couple of weeks. It really works but only if you do it like the intructions say and also don't do it constantly just like at times you feel the need to loose weight because it does have it's side effects.

I use china slim tea along with my LA weight loss program. It works wonders. I have been using it for 1 week and I have deffinatly seen results.
My mother introduced me to it and she said the trick to keeping hydrated when taking this product (she's a nurse) is to drink something with electrolites to replace the water you are losing. This minimises some of the serious side effects. As for the pains, I had them for the first 2 days and they were gone. Now I just feel the urge to go to the bathroom at a more urgent level. I love the stuff!

Hey Folks....I learned something new from a Muslim Culture.
actually it was Sayings of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)

U may eat any healthy food you want, but with a limit (your stomach must be devided by three portion, first One is room for air, another room for meal, last one is for water)that's the best diet you can imagine.

(air, meal, water) so you dont feel sick,u dont feel heavy after you finished eating, that's Unique Way to lose weight. And Very Healthy Way.
That's means eat less ,know your limit.don't be STUFFED.

Good Luck Everybody with your research.
Live Healthy ,wealthy and happy life.

Hello to all Anonymous, the instructions on the box clearly said to drink one cup after every meal. After the first day when I realised the severity of the results, I cut it down to 1 a day (usually after dinner) so I would go to the toilet the next day. However, for the first two weeks of taking the tea religiously everyday, the pain was still quite severe (not as severe as the first night) but still there. It would still take me an hour or two of pain and dehydration before the effects came out - and this even included drinking glasses of water prior to going to the toilet. After taking it regularly for about two months, the severity of the pain lessened but that rumbling, akin to diarrhoea, was still there.

I exercised and dieted at the same time which is why I lost so many kilos in 3 months. You can find this at any Asian supermarkets, in the tea section.

I really don't recommend this to anyone - especially if you're looking for a long-term solution to losing and keeping the weight off. As mentioned, this causes serious damage to your kidneys and other organs if you use for a prolonged period. I read at one point that you really should stop using after 6 months. Another thing, you may lose the weight but this doesn't mean you're fit - you'll find a lot of your muscles are gone and your strength and energy are reduced, especially if you're not exercising and toning at the same time.

I have tried all of the teas out there (my favorite is Detox - internalcleansing.com ) Anyway, I've discovered through my tea use and colonics that the tricks is to drink LOTS of water. It not only helps the weight loss, but decreases the abdominal discomfort DRAMATICALLY.

The idea is that there is a lot of old waste in your colon. The teas "irritate" your colon so that it contracts to expel the accumulated waste. Well if the waste is hard it has to cramp harder Think of squeezing out of a tube, if the contents are thick and hard, then it'll take more work to get it out and come out slower than it they were soft, like a gel or something.

The only way to get your internal waste softer is my adding more water. The first BM may be watery, but if your properly hydrate eventually, the old stuff in there will come out like a regular BM.

Sorry for all of the gross detail. but hope this helps. -Sam

I have been drinking slimtea on and off for the past few months. For a two week span, I drank it every other day, with great success. I recently decided to "take a break" from drinking the tea, and see how regular I was naturally. I exercise a lot (jog on a regular basis and do yoga), drink a lot of water, and eat a healthy diet with which includes a lot of fiber.
Before I started drinking slimtea, I found I had quite regular BM's...usually once or twice a day, however, since I stopped drinking slimtea, i have not been able to go to the washroom since. It has been 5 days. I have been constipated and bloated, on a diet of prunes, bran, veggies etc., without a single BM. It has become very uncomfortable, but I dont want to go back to using slimtea. I fear that my body got used to it, and relied on it so much, that it stopped working for itself. a few weeks ago, i would have recommended this tea to anyone, now I caution them. If you are already regular, dont mess with your system! Its not worth it!
you dont want to have to be dependent on slimtea just to pooh regularly! I have gained 6lbs in a few days, and I know its all sitting uncomfortably in my intestines!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks Aimzster for the start of this article. As I was reading this article, I want to tell you my ordeal that I went through because of "China Slim Tea". About 7 years ago, I used China Slim tea as well and at that time there was nothing on the internet about China Slim Tea to read. And I was getting married and wanted to loose 6 to 7 lbs wait to fit into my wedding dress. So, the quickest way for me was to find something like China Slim tea and look good in my dress. So, without reading anything or consulting any doctor about it, I bought the tea from Jons Marketplace and started drinking once a day after dinner as stated on the box.

After drinking the tea during the 1st few days and weeks, I was having severe abdominal cramps, and wanting to go to toilet at least 4-5 times a day. I was loosing weight the way I wanted, so I dealt with the pain as much as I could. Within 2 months after drinking the tea, I was able to lose 9 lbs and I was so happy. I got married and I was still drinking tea every other day just to keep my stomach empty and flushed out. I drank the tea for total of 5 months and started seeing some changes in health. From time to time, I was feeling faintness, dizziness, dehydration, etc. even though I was drinking a lot water and exercising.

So, 3 months after my wedding, one day I was home on the weekend and I started getting sharp pain in stomach and going to pee every 5 minutes with blood in the urine. I got really scared and didn't know what it was. My husband was not home at the time, so I called my mom to come over because I could not bare the pain and wanted to go to the hospital right away. She took me to the hospital right away. After going there, the doctors checked and asked me the normal questions, what at eat, drank etc.. and after checking everything I was diagnosed with severe Ulcerative Colitis. At the time, I didn't' know what "Ulcerative Colitis" was. My doctor explained to us what it was. My colon was severely swollen and the red spots on the colon caused the colon to bleed continuously. I was given the only medication to treat this problem at the time was "Asscole" and "Prednisone". They are both steroids to calm the colon down. I was admitted into the hospital for one week. During that time, I was on high dose of medication and by the time I got out of the hospital, I had gained 20 lbs with that medication. But I was on the road to recovery.

My doctor and I discussed the use of "China Slim Tea" and he said it is really bad to drink this tea. He also mentioned the ingredients called Senna which is very bad for the internal part of the body - colon, kidneys, etc. I've been on this "Ulcerative Colitis" medication for the last 5 years and been trying to loose weight by exercising. I do not think drinking this tea is worth putting my life in risk like this to loose weight. Who knows what exactly is in the tea. I'm surprised that this tea is still on the store shelves today. It should have been banned and taken off the shelves a long time ago. Somebody needs to do something here.

At the end, all I can say is not to drink this tea. It has a lot of side effects. For those of you are considering drinking this tea, I hope this article help you make a better decision about it.

I've had that same problem.. but I let it steep for at least 5 minutes.. boy did I mess up there. haha But I think this is only good if you are constipated. Although it says drink once a day, I think maybe twice a week should be more reasonable. It acts just like an enema kit. It's bad to use an enema kit everday because it takes out the nutriants that your body needs. So you would think the same for the slim tea. Don't quote me. This is what I think.. haha please correct me if I'm wrong.

I got the tea from my chinese mother in law two days ago, and she's an old nutritionist. For a nutritionist, she sure doesn't know how terrible this slim tea is for the human body if used regularly.
Today is my third day on it, and today I experienced the worst pain in my life, (far beyond child birthing pains, this is like an 11 on the scale). Abdominal pain that lasted an entire afternoon.
I'm going tomorrow to report this to the health department of the united states of america, and make this tea illegal to sell. It's totally a scam.
Whatever weight you lose is water weight, along with everything inside your stomach. The toxins that irritate your bowels are way too strong of herbs to be put in an otc drug. This tea should only be prescribed by a physician, as an enema for use in overly constipated people, used very rarely.

Be careful!

As for the taste i would recommend adding another type of tea to it to add good flavor also drink LOTS of water this WILL dehydrate you so you will need it... if your body says go to the bathroom go to the bathroom don't make the mistake many do and try to hold it in... don't drink the tea every day its not the best for you but it does control some of your matabilism so drink it once to twice a week at most... you most likely will need to go to the bathroom after every meal dont hesitate just do it... and you wont have AS MANY problems with it...

I couldn't have described it better myself! My sister bought the tea while at a convention in chicago 3 years ago and was too chicken to try it...so my brilliant self decided what's the harm? I remember drinking only 1 cup at around 9:00pm by 5am I had sever cramps & a terrible case of the runs. I continued this wonderful process for 1 week and lost 8lbs. Of course I was happy to lose the weight, but the dizziness, cramps, and shaking were too much for me to bear so I decided to stop taking the pills. It was not until 2 weeks later that my body felt like itself again, mind you I now have IBS as a result!

I use this tea because I have irritable bowel syndrome and tend to be on the constipated side majority of the time.
I usually have it after the largest meal of the day (usually dinner) and It will usually make me go to the toilet the next morning after a cup of coffee or hot drink.
The only bad part is that I do get the cramps a little but I'm so used to them from having IBS that it doesnt bother me too much.

The taste was a huge problem but I found the perfect solution. After making a strong small cups and drinking fast followed by something nicer tasting like hot lemon water I decided to put the lemon in the tea instead... it absolutely masks the taste amazingly. and still seems to work the same for me.

so forget the honey, lemon works great and now I actually enjoy drinking it.

I am currently taking this tea. I wold suggest steeping it for about a minute and only using a couple times a week with diet and exercise. You will see results. The abdominal cramps are a bit unbearable at times. Take late in the evening so that you can go in the morning.

I would also suggest consulting a physician if the cramps persists or worsen because this could be harmful to your health. Of course we are all mindful of our physical appearances but not at the overall risks of our health or lives. Besides, can you really enjoy your new beautiful physique if you're bound to a hospital bed on an IV or worse, SIX FEET UNDER?

So be careful and listen to your body. If something doesn't feel right STOP and consult you physician if you're not sure. I am a health nut at times because I have three kids but, I don't want to LOOK like I have three kids. LOL!!!

I truly hopes that this helps someone out there!

Be Safe... Be Healthy... Be Blessed...And Enjoy life, YOU only get one!

That was a very funny story!!!! I have to reiterate what everyone else has said, the instructions clearly state "after every meal ONCE A DAY! I have been drinking this tea for almost 2 months. Occassionally. Usually after too much meat. If you want to lose weight and fast, do it the tried and true way, diet and exercise. I drink the tea to get rid of anything that may be stopping me up or makes me feel heavy. You CANNOT eat how much you want and whatever you want and rely on the tea for weight loss. If you are, then should you wonder why you have been experiencing severe abdominal cramps? The tea helps you get rid the food you eat. So if you're eating a lot, then you're gonna shit a lot! duh. Depending on where you live you can find this tea at any Asian supermarket. If you do not have one in your area try Traditional Medicinals Smooth Move. It works the same, but feels a little more harsh.

hello just to let you know (and to relax you), the slim tea is not really dangerous any more than laxatives are. i have a box of it in my room because i tend to have constipation problems. most chinese slim teas are a combination of ginseng, tea leaves and a myriad of other herbs. however if you inspect the ingredients they will almost invariably include "senna" or some variation like "sennae", which is nothing more than a regular laxative. so the adverse effects you were feeling (dizzy, faint, white) are due to dehydration. long-term use creates kidney problems because the kidneys wash out harmful materials via your urine, but if you are dehydrated there is not enough water in your kidneys and your kidneys are flooded with too much of the toxic materials. so just a few months of getting off the stuff should get you back to normal. yup, just thought i'd share this with you. and to say - don't diss it when you have a bloated tummy and need to get rid of the horrid feeling of having lots of food in your intestines! it works wonders then.

I only use this tea, when severly consitpated. I couldn't imagine using it after every meal. It could certianly cause health issues. Any weight loss is bound to come from the fact that your food was not able to be digested properly because it's being pushed right out of your body shortly after you consume it by the ingredents in the tea; Followed by fluid loss/dehydration, not to mention intestional bleeding. I've been consitpated for two weeks because of some meds i've been taken. I took the tea, and yes the cramping is bad, but it produced results- hudge results- I had 3lbs of stool n there. I use the extra strength- I wouldn't recommend the super to would be way too strong. The taste is alright; senna in pill form taste awful, now imagine it in a tea. I mix it with ginger tea, or some other tea with a better taste. It contains Senna the 1st ingredents so the content is high. Use it carefully. any weight loss will most likely come back when the body returns to normal

Hi Everyone,

Oh my holy moly, cant believe i found people that experienced the same symptoms as me! Thing is, i got the severe pains, and fainting sensation after only ONE CUP of tea!!!!

I hadn't gone to the toilet for one day and just wanted to go, so my mum gave me this tea after soaking it for a few minutes. I took it at 6pm last night and got severe abdomen pains later that night. I could not sleep at all.

The whole night i was running in an out of the toilet. After having an initial bowel movement, the rest of them were watery with nothing at all, BUT i still had the 'urge' and cramps, falsely signaling that there was something there. In the morning i was in pain as well and all through this afternoon. I am 21 and slim so i wasnt trying to lose weight just go to the bathroom! I cannot imagine the nutters out there using this stuff EVERY DAY!!! Good luck to you, but 1 cup of this stuff was enough for me.

I have taken this tea, and I had no cramps whatsoever. I don't see what everyone is talking about, because I have so no difference except I have to crap a little more. It feels cleansing and healing after I've drank it, and it doesn't taste that bad. personally, for the herbal cleansing, its worth it. I really like it.

I just drank my first cup of this tea and then it occurred to me I should do a bit of research. Personally I think it's shocking anyone would go through all the pain and suffering I'm reading here just to drop a few pounds. Why not spend the 3 hours you spend sitting on the toilet doing aerobics! Much healthier and a lot less painful!!

By the way, I am looking directly at the box right now and it certainly does say "Drink one cup a day after a meal."
Could it be there are different instructions depending on the brand? At the Asian market where I purchased mine there were at least 3 different brands.

Anyway, don't sacrifice your health. Take a jog or do some sit ups instead for crying out loud.
I'm throwing my box away right after this is typed. Just wish I'd read these comments before drinking the cup I just drank.

Hi, I've been using Slim Tea for the past 14 years but only when I've eaten a big meal to where I feel uncomfortable. It has a disgusting aroma and I have to hold my nose when I take it to stop me dry reaching. I stand at the bathroom sink get my toothbrush ready. I scull it down and don't breathe and quickly brush my teeth to get the taste out of my mouth. I would never use it everyday. No way. And yes, 10 hours later I'm in agony and each time I tell myself I will never do it again. I feel faint, nauseated and on a couple of occasions I'm doing my business on the toilet and also needing to have a bowl in front of me because I'm throwing up from all the pain I guess. I'm 39-y-o and I'm crying and begging God to put me out of my misery because the pain is so excrutiating. I hop back into bed and get in a fetal position rocking myself because of the pain then I have to get up again a few minutes later to go for the next round. Sometimes I've just sat on the toilet for a couple of hours because I'm too exhausted to go back to bed. I sit on the toilet with my eyes shut just to rest them. You do get a flat tummy, but it will only last a couple of days. I'm not a big eater. I'm 5 ft 3 and weigh 126 pounds (Australian metric: 165cm and 55kg). But I tend to put on weight around the tummy so easily. I haven't taken the product for about 5 months now. This product has caused me problems now. I now need to eat Allbran everyday to keep my fibre levels up otherwise I will be constipated even if I miss one day of eating Allbran cereal. I have literally totalled my insides and I wouldn't use the product daily. Maybe one a week. Eating fruit doesn't help me go to the toilet. I would only feel worse and more bloated. If you a desperate then only use it if you have a function or something the next day as it will flatten your tummy, but you may also be running to the toilet that evening while you are out (embarrassing!!).

Anyway good luck! But please don't use it everyday. Do watch what you eat.

Firstly, you're not supposed to add any sweetener and you're supposed to limit the use to one tea bag per day. Also, this is ridiculously unhealthy so you should refrain from using this tea at all.

Someone mentioned that this tea contains Senna. Senna is a natural, herbal laxative. This tea is no more harmful for you than taking a herbal remedy, like Senna, or a cup full of psylluim husks/Metamucil.

I have something called 'lazy bowel syndrome' and this tea has been an enormous help to get things moving...if you will.

I would advise drinking plenty of fluids the day you are planning on taking the tea, then drink the tea approximately 10-12 hours before you plan to wake up, then ensure you have an hour of 'awake time' in the house so that when you leave your bowels will be close to empty.

Your intestines are the same length as you...so imagine if you are 5'6 then your small intestine measure out to that height if you were to take them out...imagine how much gets lost in that plumbing.

drink responsibly.

Ladies, thank you for the comments... I am about to start taking the tea (also bought Badia and took two teabags last night around 8pm - one cup, 2 bags) ... it's 12 noon and no results yet. I've put on a ton of weight (I'm only 4'11") due to my thyroid going haywire and so now (after years of being 95-100 lbs) I have reached almost 120lbs!!! Yes, I know some people don't want to hear that.. but if you're as short as I am, it feels very, very uncomfortable, especially when my immediate family is borderline obese (not due to the actual disease, but because they let themselves go - seriously, some people have the disease and that's is very understandable; my family does not, they just don't care and have always tried to get me to "let myself go" - and this will NEVER happen! I guess I have issues, LOL!). I have taken dietetic teas in the past and have always stopped after the first or two cups because, as many of you stated, the SMELL.. yuk! and perhaps the pain from the diarrhea. But I really have to do something about this weight and over-sized love handles. So last night, I couldn't take it anymore, after downing home-made banana bread/cake, muffins, lasagna... uuuughh....ok, ok, it doesn't help I know.. but soooo good!!! So I went out and bought me Badia and China Slim Tea. As you can gather, I am so desperate that I bought two different types. Now that Badia hasn't taken any effect after 8-12 hours, I am moving on to China Slim Tea... THANK GOD I can be home all day; so yes, I also agree with taking it at night for a good night sleep and dealing with the pain and sorrow throughout the day... I have a trip coming up (Chile) in 3 weeks, so I have to get some sort of results.... Does anyone know how much weight one can lose with the China Slim Tea in THREE WEEKS??? I am taking it with me to Chile (where I will be for 6 months - sorry, had to throw that in there... but what if I can't find anything like this out there? doubtful). I really need to lose at least 10lbs within the next 3 weeks and it's going to be tough cause I don't exercise (aaahhh like I used to) other than taking my "four legged silly kids" out for an occasional walk - which walk will have to be increased to AT LEAST twice a day. I don't know if I will be able to abstain from comfort food though... all this SUCKS!! but here goes hoping! I'll let you know the outcome. But don't forget my question.. THANK YOU EVERYONE!

I would seriously stear clear of this product. I took this over three years ago and have suffered from IBS ever since! IBS isnt nice when you are in pain all the time with wind! Plus I cant eat anything these days without my stomach hurting! Its seriously not worth the problems after .... just eat less and move more people, these quick fixes do not work

Hi everyone,
I have been taking this tea for the past 3 years every 2nd day..and until I did some reasearch on it, I had no idea how horrible it is for you. I stopped 1 1/2 months and ever since I have so much trouble going to the bathroom. I have developed "lazy bowel syndrome" and I can't have a BM naturally anymore. This tea was such a stupid mistake and I damaged by systems and I don't know how long it will take to get back to normal. Can anyone please tell me if they have gotten off the tea and how did they manage/cope with that and if they ever went to having a normal bowel movement again and how long does it all take and what should I do..I am really really depressed and need some desperate reassurance...I would not recommend anyone to take this tea......and after researching so much about it, I found out that eventually if you keep taking this tea, you will have to keep increasing the dosage otherwise it won't work and after say 10-15 years of taking the tea, you might have to get your colon removed and have a bag attached to your body for your poo or worse the poo just runs down all over you since your colon is paralysed..so please STOP. Go and read up on senna laxatives.
Thanks in advance for your responses..

No laxtive weather natural or not should be taken over a prolonged period, this causes your body to become dependent on them. most naturally if you are taking this tea you are going to need to drink alot of water. I just started it and my symptoms arent that bad at all, there is a right and a wrong way of doing things... dont abuse the product and you should be fine.

She now looks great, and continues to use it the tea to help maintain her size. I am not sure the effects it will have on other individuals but it appears to have did wonders for my friend. I am already a fit person, but I would give it a try if a few extra pounds creep up! lol...

I just started this yesterday and have had no stomach cramps and only one bowel movement since yesterday. I do not plan on using it long term just trying to jump start colon by cleansing it. I can't believe all the people that have bad cramps! So far so good I guess for me.

I've taken this tea and nothing has happened to me. On my box, it says to drink it after meals so there are probably different instructions for different brands and strength (I got the Super strength). I wouldn't say to use it for the long run but for a fast cleansing then I'd say to use it. I haven't had any pains or cramps but I did get the runs...most likely due to the enchiladas I ate because my bf got it too and he never drank the tea. This tea is like a natural laxatve so it isn't too bad. I'm pretty sure the cramps, dizziness, faint feeling people are getting are due to dehydration or is just not used to herbs like these. I drink all kinds of different teas and eat different herbs all the time, so maybe that's why I haven't really had any problems? And I don't think it smells horrible either or tastes too bad.

I had been taking this tea for a few years but averaging once a fortnight. As it was too painful for me. I'd cramp and break out into a sweat and on some occassions would be throwing up. I stopped taking the tea early this year and I found I had trouble to have a bowel movement with out the tea. I think I have ruined my insides. The only way that I can get a regular BM is to have Allbran every morning and by 10am the next day I have a normal and healthy BM. If I miss one day of having Allbran, I become constipated and bloated. So maybe start having a bowl of Kellogs Allbran and for first time users give it a good week for your body to get use to it and you should then be going like clock work and you will have no painful cramps etc..... That tea is probably only good to use once in a while. I'm a good example of this, so I don't recommend for anyone to use it because you will have problems down the track. You may love what it does to your body in the short term but in the long term you will have trouble.

For those who have BM problem, I suggest you to try to eat freash celery--wash it and eat, do not cook them. I have celery as my mid-night snack, very helpful.

Sounds good. I would like to give it a try. How many celery stalks do you need to consume in one sitting to for it to work. Also, when you have it at night how many hours to the next BM.

Thanks.

I randomly pick 2 or 3. have them with a cup of milk before sleep or while watching TV. When I get up in the morning, I will have my simple breakfast then go to bathroom. My boyfriend usually spend 20 minutes minimum in the toilet, but I only use...say 3 minutes. but I feel my inside is empty after that. I think the fiber of celery really works! must Try if you see this people.

Hi this is to eli-kay,
I am the anonymous that you meant to write to. Firstly, thankyou for writing..it means a lot to see someone taking interest and replying. I know what you are saying about BM being difficult after the tea..It has taken me a lot of time and after using a lot of natural products such as good flora bacteria, plenty of fibre etc, my bm has finally i'd say 80% reached normal..although it's still difficult sometimes but gotten a lot better..I wouldn't recommend this tea to anyone it has done a lot of damage and if i didnt stop it would have completely damaged my insides - so beware..as for you eating All Bran, i'd say just let your body go ..dont take anything unecessary, you might be uncomfortable/constipated for a bit and then eveything gets back to normal - I still have 1 tsp of benefiber and 1tsp of metamucil so get the right fibre intake....

Hi Anonymous,

I agree with you 110% about the tea - it's not good for the body. I take Allbran because it's just plain cereal. It is high in fibre and I'm not much of a fruit eater as it bloats me. I've tried metamucil and benefibre, it didn't do much for me than with the results I get from Allbran (processed bran). I guess everyone's body reacts different to these. I'm too scared to go cold turkey on the Allbran, sometimes I skip having Allbran on the weekend because I'm sick of it but then I pay for it and I do get badly constipated. I find fruit doesn't help me in the way Allbran does. This is why I eat it. We have adverts on TV here in Australia saying the Allbran cereal is a great way to keep you on the move. It has been great for me.

In regards to celery how many single stalks do you consume at bed time.

Regards,
eli-kay

Hi eli-kay

Celery works better than those fiber drinks or pills for me. Most importantly, it is sooo much cheaper. I forgot to say 2 things: 1. Don't eat it in the morning, because celery makes your skin more sensitive to sun light. Eating in the morning makes you more easier to get spots on your skin. 2. Celery lower your blood pressure. If you already have low blood presure, you should be careful. Otherwise, it is perfect.

i have this tea, you suppose to drink it once a day..Only ONCE A DAY after a meal. and you have to exercise too, so you just cant rely on the tea either.if you wanna shed those fat, exercise first..then drink the tea before you go to bed..then in the morning around 5 or 6am you will need to poop." diarrhea" . that pain feeling is what happening in your bowel, its taking all the food you ate that there day nd letting you poop it all out. this tea is fine, and yes i added honey it taste better, but to know how to really use this tea, drink it once and exercise with a diet plan....but if you want a good healthy tea that will not hurt you tummy, drink 100% GREEN TEA

SERIOUSLY.. listen to yourselves people..

"I didn’t care that the warning on the box mentioned that prolonged use would cause damage to the kidneys."

"I'd cramp and break out into a sweat and on some occassions would be throwing up."

THERE IS NO MAGIC PILL / TEA / WAND - the only thing stopping you being the perfect weight for you is that you're not REALLY willing to do what it takes. You're willing to talk and whinge about it, but you're not really committed to making the changes you need to have the body you deserve - and don't worry you're not alone.

I'm a personal trainer - here's the advice i charge people $150 an hour for... FREE.. it's straight talk so if you're easily offended and don't want to listen to the real deal- 1. go get all inspired and buy some new exercise equipment you'll never use, 2. buy some diet shakes that make you gag 3. buy bunch of mags written by idiots that make you feel like crap. 4. Repeat.

BUT IF YOU'RE REALLY SERIOUS:

1 - TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND CUT THE BULL - your body has everything it needs to be in perfect alignment. YOU and your CRAZY addiction to jumping on diet bandwagons are the problem. So get over it and lets do some real work that's going to make a difference.

2. Eat nutritious wholefoods foods - 6 times a day take in 200-300 calories - small portion of protein, small wholegrain carb and a TRUCKLOAD of fresh veggies.
YES EAT 6 TIMES A DAY - you "think" this is too much food - but try it for a week - hell you've tried other 'crazy' stuff that YOU KNOW DOESN'T WORK yet you're resistant to stuff you know does.

YOU are making YOURself FAT FAT FAT by under eating and depriving your body of the fuel and nutrients it needs to burn to keep your metabolism going and burn fat.

It's not VOODOO - it's science and YOU ARE NOT special / different / unable to lose weight because xyz..Cut the excuses.

Deal with it and stop pretending WHO Weekly or A Current Affair or the Biggest Loser have the answer. Would you take advice from these shows on removing your appendix??

3. POO. If you're not going to the loo to poo at least 1-2 times a day you need to DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT NOW. This is not a conversation for everyone but you need to deal with it. Your bowel is your lifeline - if you're not having a healthy bowel movement (like a rope- not floaties, not rocks) then you're not eating enough RAW fibre.. and it's your DIET not your "belly". YOU ARE YOUR BIGEST DIGESTION PROBLEM.

Think of the raw fibre filled leafy greens and colored veg you eat as the 'feather dusters' of your system. You can't cheat your body - you put the good things in - you'll get the result- IBS style imbalances and colon cancers aren't surprises - they manifest over long periods of time of depriving the body of what it needs.

Then suddenly you hear that someone has died of bowel cancer.."oh it took him so quickly" we say. YES - you plug up your lifeline with crap food and low nutrient foods and the crap wins.

Stop deluding yourself and those you love by making it ok to eat food that has no value.

4 No food is BAD. What you make it mean and what happens after you eat it is the problem (.."i've clucked up my plan by eating XYZ.. now it's all over boo hoo hoo im a fat loser .. give me the whole packet..oh now im an even bigger loser.... "

What you eat 80% of the time is going to dictate how you look, feel, how great your skin is. Give yourself 1 day off a week to eat whatever you like - I MEAN WHATEVER - maccas, tim tams - everything is allowed 1 day a week. You'll notice that you won't feel like binging because all week you've know that you'd get to eat it. Scientifically you actually benefit from a controlled calorie spike on a regular basis.

Nothing like depravation to make you fall off the wagon and have it reverse over you over and over.

5. Exercise - Make it part of your everyday movement - this is 20% of the puzzle. 30 mins walking a min.. Do WEIGHT BEARING activities - YES LIFT STUFF. "Oh but i don't want to get BIG muscles"

Yeah right.. female body builders train hours a day over long periods to get their physiques and YOU'RE MAGICALLY going to explode with a moderate program??

No - you'll get some amazing feminine tone, and building muscle makes you BURN FAT at much higher rate, it also lowers your risk of osteoporosis- BONUS you won't need a hip replacement. You'll even get to take in more calories (ie EAT MORE) because your body will need more fuel and you'll be like those kids in highs school you used to hate "Gee.. Wendy can eat ANYTHING and she's always so slim".

THAT’S BECAUSE WENDY DOES WEIGHT BEARING ACTIVITIES AND FEEDS HER METABOLISM FUEL REGULARLY WHILE YOU SIT THERE, EATING CRUMBS WONDERING WHAT THE MAGIC VOODOO REASON IS...

Anywhoo... hope this helps someone get a grip on reality.

You know deep down what really works - my challenge is stop being so desperate about finding the "magic" way to trick your body into waking up trim - it doesn't exist and your body ISN'T STUPID.

Stop giving your power, health and money to fads and people who want to use your desperation to make money and leave you fatter.. fatter for someone or SOMETHING else to make money off you. Over years of under eating and restricting nutrients, binge cycles and depravation - THESE FADS WILL KILL YOU EVENTUALLY by causing dis-ease in your body. Yes even YOU.

You deserve a long healthy life, you deserve to let your beauty radiate and to have your body find it's natural balance of a healthy weight.

You are smarter than the shit the media tells you and sells you... so drop this TEA crap and lets see the REAL YOU!

You lot are mad, this tea is a natural herbal tea to help to reduce weight loss. Your only meant to take it once a day, most preferred at night time.
It takes you body a while to get use to cause its flushing all your bad in toxin's out. You can not eat as much as you like, this is not some thing where you can go yeaaah. I'll eat as much and just shit it all out the next day its not like that.
You have to regularly eat healthy and drink loads of water plus exercising.

The cramping at the first stages is your body saying I got so much shit in here I can't process it fast enough!!!

Try it for a week && if you don't like it then ditch it. But not think this a fast way to lose weight! This just reduces all your body fluid and fatty on your skin && stomach!

I'm sorry you went through that experience, but you not suspose to drink the china slim tea after every meal and everyday. First, you suspose to drink one cup and let your body do the rest. The tea will flush my system out for three whole day. Now, if you drink one cup everyday, then you do the math. You will have the bubble guts for weeks. P.S also drink a lot of water too.

Hi everyone! I just bought this tea and let me tell you, after reading this Im not too sure i want to drink it! Its sitting in front of me and I don't know if i should drink it! Because i have to work tomorrow and I really don't want to have stomach pain and diarrhea! Specially since I work with kids! But it seems like that only happens when people over do it and drink too much. And I just read somewhere else that it's a natural laxative? Woah! And yes, it kind of smells bad, but I think it tastes just fine! It's actually pretty good! But I think it's not supposed to make you loose weight, it just helps you along the process of loosing weight. Part of that process is cleaning out your system. So I'm very sorry that you went through that. But i think it was because you kind of over did it. But, I'm going to drink it today and see how it goes! Wish me luck!

I stopped using this tea, along time ago.
1. It's is really a short term thing and as soon as you eat you go back to your old self.

2. I had a lot of stomach pains because of it.

If you are really wanting to lose some weight try the Dukan diet. I have been doing it on and off and I notice that because I eat very little carbs my tummy has gone flatter and I feel alot healthier. In the first week I lost 3kg. Mind you, you are not meant to eat any carb during the Attach phase. But I am happy to do it slowly as I am thin already just need to drop 5kg and to keep my tummy flat. Take my word it is a great diet and you will lose weight fast and the healthy way and you can eat as much food as you want as long it's on their food list. Take a look at the site and get some background info on it. There is also plenty of recipes when you google "dukan diet recipes." and you can purchase books on it written by Pierre Dukan.

Website: http://www.dukandiet.co.uk/

The Dukan method: lose weight naturally

To lose weight when there is an abundance of food around you is not natural, is difficult and often unsuccessful. The Dukan method proposes a healthy eating plan that returns to the foods which founded the human species, those eaten by primitive man, the hunter-gatherers, proteins and vegetables, 100 foods including 72 from the animal world and 28 from the plant world. These foods come with the magic words: "AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE". .

Slimming advice for natural weight loss

One of the major advantages of our slimming method is its strong integrated support structure. If you follow our healthy diet plan to the letter, you will lose weight regularly.

A method for losing and stabilizing your weight in 4 phases
4 phases which occupy the dieter from day one so that they never again feel like abandoning the diet.
4 phases, from the strongest, most supported and effective, to the most open and stabilizing.
4 phases to be carried out successively in order to reach the ideal weight target: lose weight naturally, rapidly and stabilize for good.

1 – A brief and headlong ATTACK phase with immediate results. During this phase, the diet is made up of 72 high-protein foods enabling quick weight loss.

2 - A CRUISE phase leading to the True Weight. During this phase, the diet alternates Pure Protein days (PP phases) and Proteins accompanied with 28 recommended Vegetables (PV phases).

3 - A CONSOLIDATION phase of 10 days per kg lost which prepares for the return to a balanced diet. Monitored freedom with a target of establishing this freshly conquered and still vulnerable ideal weight. This phase sees the gradual return of pleasurable foods with two festive meals.

4 - A definitive stabilization phase based on 3 simple, concrete, easy but non-negotiable measures. This phase is both the easiest and most essential in our slimming method because 95% of people who follow a diet put back on the weight they have lost.

All the best,
NS

Your text goes hereI started taking this tea over 5 yrs ago. I drank it once a day either before or after my largest meal of the day. Cramping went away after a few weeks. I slowly lost 35 lbs in 3 years and kept it off. However, 6 months ago I stopped taking it and have gained 12 pounds. I am not sure why I stopped drinking it, but will have to start again as it obviously works and makes me feel lighter and fit after a good BM.

I was introduced to this tea over a year ago....I don't drink it every day....only occasionally I'll have a cup. It defiantly makes you feel lighter. I wouldn't recommend using it consistently. It's like taking a laxative and your body gets so used to it once u stop your body relies on the tea to go to the bathroom for a period of time. I didn't drink it for 6 months and lost 10 kilos in 3 months. It isn't an affective weightless tool if you want to maintain what you've lost. I don't find it repulsive...I can easily sit down and sip it. Definitely better then any tablet I've taken for the same result. I don't even know how you could have it after every meal...one cup does a lot for me as it is!!!

I had used this tea bout 3 years ago. The taste was yucky but managable since I am used to eating bitter melon and all sorts of veggies. I did have the cramping and the frequent bms that gradually decreases over the next 3 days. I think I drank the tea for 3 weeks/ once a day and did see significant results. I think the key here is drink lots of water, and watch what you eat!!! If you eat junk and fatty foods in large amounts, your body will flush it out! I did not experience the dizziness, faintness, shaking etc. Maybe think about the origin of the tea, asians and their diet. minimal fats, lots of veggies, fish, fruits, etc. Be smart and don't rely on this product alone. If you hurt then stop!!

First off your and idiot and secondly your an idiot. I think it is wrong to trash the brand because you abused it and did not read the instructions which clearly say one cup a day after meal. Also the box says if you experience diarrhea or abdominal pain to not continue. You ignored all the safety precautions and your own common sense. So that is all on you and not because it is a dangerous product. It does what it promises, it aids in weight loss.

I always thought i had a strong constitution. "one cup after meal..." once again typical arrogance of chinese organizations to take little effort to clearly document a product in english. Should say "take no more than once a day". Anyway i won't use it ever again either. Perhaps a statement on the box like, "care should be used when using this product and gradual build up of volume consumed to avoid possible cramping that could affect some people" i thought i was having a heart attack or something. no more quick fixes for me!

I'm drinking this tea(once a day,at night) "dieting" and "exercing for four days now and I feel 10lbs lighter everyday! I do not plan on living on this tea for fear of all complications listed above but for now I feel great I even look forward to #2 every 7am "call me gross" I think the cramps most ppl get are when its time for them to go #2 or it may be gas. Chinese slim tea is worth a try everybody bodies react differently

I loved this story as Im glad i wasnt the only one! I had the same reaction to this tea. I have used it for many years from time to time to clean out my system as I tend to get a bit constipated and it worked wonders - i only ever had slight cramping nothing that would make me not do it again. So I did it again a week ago and this time the pain I experienced was worse than labour - and that was bad enough. I drank it about 9pm and went to bed. After about an hour or so i got really bad cramps and my night on the loo started. After a few false starts I had a solid bm but nothing else so I went back to bed. Then after a couple of hours of tossing and turning and severe cramping the big one came - my god i dont know what was in it but it smelt like death.....all I can say is I am glad whatever it was is now out of my body! I wouldnt say dont ever use it - but be warned if its your first time dont do it unless you have nowhere to go for atleast the day after and you know how it will affect you. On the second day after taking it I was still running to the loo when I was at the shops and it wasnt nice

its always good to get the opinions of others, before I started taking this tea, I did research it on its website and it did state that it was safe to take everyday as directed on the box, I have been taking it for about 3 months on and off, never constant though, the cramping and the taste I can tolorate, ever the sleepless nights when I do take it. The thing is i've have recently purchased a box and had decided that I was going to take it everyday for a while and see if it really works, but now after reading all the above comment I'm gonna stop taking it, as I said I just bought a box of 18 and in Jamaica where I live its kinda expensive, so I'm gonna finish the box and then stop. as anybody who posted on here ever consulted a doctor for their medical opinion. I'm curious and would like to know

P.S thanks for sharing your experiences

I dont understand why people that are taking this product long term are complainign about complication when it is clearly not for long term usage. Use the product the way it is intended to be use and thus avoid the many complications good luck on all the weight loss endevors ...

so i have been taking China Slim Fast tea, today will be my third day. The first day i let the tea bag sit for 2 minutes, the next day normal bowel movements, the second day i let the tea bag sit for 15 minutes, still normal bowel movements, today i let it sit for 30 and probably will know the results of it tomorrow. It seems to work right away for everyone, so i was wondering if i am doing something wrong since i don't seem to have the symptoms majority of people are experiencing

I drink a different type called "Chinese Dieters Tea". This comes in a box of 30 from amazon. The instructions are to steap 1 bag for 3-5 mins for 14 days, then change to 2 teabags.
When I first tried this, I did get cramps and I did need to ruuun to the toilet.

but in no way as bad as those reviews above

I think each experience will be different. I eat lots of fibre and fruit, plus I drink liquid all the time. I don't drink this tea every day, only every OTHER day. On the days I do drink it, I make sure I do not exercise.
Since drinking this tea, I have received a lot fo cmments about how slimline I look - which can only be from drinkng the tea as it is the only thing I have changed in my routine.
FULLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT WHEN USED SPARINGLY

I used the exact Chinese Slimming Tea for a year and a half. I went from 155 lbs to 98 pounds in a few months. I also ruined my gastro-intestinal system and had a miscarriage. And, prolonged use can cause chemical dependency. Meaning, after a year and half of using it, you go through withdrawals like a heroin addict.

I haven't used it in two and a half years and I bought a pack yesterday.

The battle to be skinny has claimed many lives and anyone that thinks they want to go down that path should turn around right now.

I was a straight A student, captain of the debate team, a songwriter, someone that can read up to seven large books in a day, and I have a photographic memory. I'm also a second degree black belt. It took me much too long to realize that no matter how strong and smart I was, the problem wasn't with my brain and my body. It was my spirit. Don't let what starts out as dieting turn into something dangerous. Love yourself first.
