Cologne Review: Bvlgari - Aqva Pour Homme
June 29th 2006 09:12
To pre-empt any disputes on the spelling, I'm using a 'v' and that's final!
Anyway, I am posting on Bvlgari Aqva for men because it smells like pure sex, not sex with purity, but purely sex.
Every man - short, tall, bald, overweight, hairy, fat, skinny, toothless, and teething, has made my head turn wearing this cologne. I would purchase this fragrance to wear myself but am afraid of acting out the inevitable narcissistic tendencies ensuing.
The freshness of the mandarin greets you, then the musky amber creeps up on you like an insatiable beast about to devour you whole. The smell is not too strong, it lingers seductively in the air as the sprayee passes you, sexily subtle and leaves you yearning for more.
The bottle is suspiciously shaped like a breast, which might have been one of its main selling points. One can easily picture male youths hungrily twiddling at its little "button" and macing themselves in the face. Other than that, the deep woody green reflects very nicely the atmosphere the scent creates. Other notes of the fragrance includes orange-tree, petitgrain, woods, sea notes (I don't know what that is either) and Posidina Oceanica (some aquatic plant).
The composition is absolutely blissful.

although, when you said it smells like 'sex', I naturally assumed that was the mix of sweat, latex and semen. That's not a good cologne!

I think musk is good, but not outright B.O.
aside: in Northern Canada, there are these peatbogs that give off a sublime musk smell.... it was the greatest natural odour I've smelled, I think...

can you roll around in them to attain such musk?

it's pretty amazing...millions of years ago, a lake filled up over time with peat moss. It's a very fragrant moss, and it builds up and up.
We would drive these ATVs through them, taking peat samples... it's a weird feeling...you're walking on land that is all vegetation, so it's very springy and comfortable. Plus, the smell was musky and soothing.
In some places, I almost fell through, and in once instance, I couldn't feel the bottom.
The world is fucked up, no?
