Dr Hauschka: Normalizing Day Oil
July 7th 2006 04:39
So this is it. The Miracle Serum. This is the bottle that many have claimed to have rescued them from the dungeon of imperfect skin conditions.
So I will review this product unfavourably. Although it is a travesty to those who swear by it. Even the sales lady at the Dr Hauschka counter gasped in shock when I admitted that the miracle serum did no wonders for my skin even after a month.
"But this cannot be! Everybody else loves it!"
Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.
The philosophy of this product is simple. It is an oil to apply on top of oily skin during the day. When your skin senses that it's got enough oil to nourish it, your glands will naturally stop producing as much oil as it did before. Therefore, oily skin becomes "normalized".
The sales lady again tried to persuade me to give it another try, attributing the serum's failure to the fact that I use products from other lines, and that the oil only works if I buy the rest of the Dr Hauschka range. I mean, what's a mere $300 right?
I fail to understand the logic of buying more crappy products to make the original crappy product better. So with a disappointed shake of my head, I bid farewell to Dr Hauschka. Pity, it had such pretty bottles.

I have used lot's of different brands of cosmetics over the past years. From Claris, Dior, YSL and La Prairie. When i switched to Dr. Hauschka because i didn't want to have petro-chemicals and other synthetics on my skin anymore I experienced massive break outs. Really painful pimpels. They were big, lasted for days and i could feel they came from deep in my skin. Luckily, I knew this was going to happen as my Hauschka sales person told me. When switching over to another brand break outs ususally happen because of the different ingredients used. When switching over to any kind of natural cosmetics, the break outs multiply because all the non-natural ingredients are barfed out by your skin. It's putting out the trash so to say.
The normalising day-oil is not a moisturiser! It is an oil and they are not the same. I have been using the normalising day-oil for 2 months now I do not have any black-heads on my nose, nor pimpels after shaving (yes, i'm a guy) but you have to read the manual that comes with it. It clearly states that for dry and sensitive skin you need to make sure that the toner is still moist on your face when applying the oil (2-3 drops of it). It also states that you get best benefits when using it with the daily moisturiser. I put a bit of moisturiser in my hands, add 2 drops of the oil and mix it in my hand and then apply. It does work wonders like that. By the way: the tone is EUR 11 and the daily moisturiser is EUR 12, a bit less then $300. P.S. together with Rose day cream you have a beautiful, full of life, skin although in hotter climates the Rose cream may be a bit to rich.
