Napoleon Perdis Loose Dust
June 5th 2006 04:03
I have an unhealthy obsession with Napoleon Perdis' Loose Dust range. I'm not afraid to admit it, if it means I get to walk around with brilliancy emanating from my eyelids. Unfortunately, my undying desire to possess all 30 colours would entail a $720 chunk chipped away from my bank account.
My love for these pots of shimmer is not unfounded. The uniquely long-lasting and brilliant luminosity and intense colours radiate from each pallet and you are overcome with craving to stick them on your face. Any glitter-obsessed child would agree with me here. I sigh at the rainbow goodness of it all.
Unfortunately the nature of loose dust means that it doesn't tend to stick on your skin very well. So it's best to apply it with a sponge eyeshadow applicator. Press the powder into your skin, don't sweep. These applicators can be obtained by stealing from your mother's makeup box.
If you have extra time to dwardle around with, or just have too much money to spare, you can purchase this clear little bottle for $25 with your powder. This Cake Eyeliner Sealer is multi-purpose. The most useful of which is to turn your pot of shimmery goodness into a liquid eye-colour that you can sweep across your eyes, drying to become smudge-proof.
For those with surgeon's precision, you can use a tiny eyeliner brush to line the liquid colour along your lids for a glamourous outline of your eyes. These can be obtained by relenting to the persuasion of the Napoleon sales girl and purchasing the little brush to please her.
Some of these colours can be doubled up as a blush. My favourite shade for this would have to be Pink Mocha (# 7) with a golden pink hue to brighten up any complexion and is subtle enough to be sweeped all over the eye. No digital image could do this shade (or any shade) any justice. Luckily, ever since Napoleon's viral invasion into the beauty counter scene, there should be one just around the corner, or five.
