Sothys Soothing Beauty Milk Cleanser Review

June 7th 2007 17:43
When you query beauty therapists about other beauty products besides the ones they’re selling and using on your face, it’s understandable for them to be ranting and raving about how these other products never live up to their promise. Then they go on to rant and rave about how good their own products are and how pleased you’ll be with the results after the facial.

Ask them what they think about Sothys and they’ll be silent for three seconds before grudgingly, pulling-their-teeth-out reluctantly mumbling, “Yeah, they’re ok.” And that’s as close as you’ll ever get to an approval before they manage to swallow the bitter pill in their mouth to brightly say, “But let me tell you about our products…”

I came across Sothys when I started getting my facials at Ding House on Sussex Street, Sydney. Because they specialise in their treatment, Sothys has one of the widest ranges, if not the widest, of skincare products catering for sensitive, reactive and/or dehydrated skin. Everytime I go to Ding House, they always apply Sothys Soothing Beauty Milk Cleanser to my skin.

Sothys Soothing Beauty Milk Cleanser

This milk cleanser is alcohol-free (allellujha!) with aloe vera extracts and coconut oil as the main ingredients. It’s designed to effectively remove dirt and makeup without stripping your skin of its natural oils, leaving it soft and supple instead.

VERDICT : Sothys Soothing Beauty Milk Cleanser lives up to its name. It’s creamy, gentle and, most of all, soothing, never leaving my skin dry or tight. It offers the same results as Dermalogica’s Essential Cleansing Solution (which I also love). For AUD$44 for a 200ml bottle, it’s in the same price range as Dermalogica’s Essential Cleansing Solution. The only reason why I choose DECS as my top cleanser is because it seems to be everywhere, especially on several online sites that offer discounted prices. For someone who can never predict or couldn’t be bothered to predict when the cleanser is running out, all I have to do is grab a replacement bottle from across the road, rather than driving to the city and fending off the aggressive promotion of other Sothys products that is Ding House.
