Take Omega 3's for Health

August 28th 2010 14:02
It's unfortunate that a lot of people have stopped eating fish or at least greatly reduced the amount that they used to eat. Fish provide omega-3 fats that are vital for brain health. Due to pollution, a lot of the fish people buy contains traces of heavy metals and other toxins. So how do you get your omega-3 fatty acids without eating fish? The answer is to start supplementing with molecularly distilled fish oil pills.

The benefits of fish oil pills are many. For one, it reduces the risk of developing heart disease because of the omega-3 fatty acids found in them. They are also beneficial for those who have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. They have also been shown to reduce inflammation, giving arthritis sufferers some relief.

Taking fish oil supplements will help your brain to work better, help you to focus better, and stay sharp. Most people don't really pay attention to the vitamins and nutrients that they are missing out on with certain foods that they eat, and other foods that they simply neglect to eat. The bottom line is the brain needs the right vitamins, minerals, and fats to keep it healthy.

As you already know, it is your brain that makes your entire body function properly. If your brain is ill, then your body will not function as it was meant to. But, with fish oil pills, you will be doing a lot of good for your brain as well as your body. For example, it is believed that these supplements may reduce your chance of developing Parkinson's disease and even Alzheimer's.

Before you run out to the store and buy anything, you should know some things about these supplements. Trying to buy the best that is available is of utmost importance. Ensure that the fish oil pills come from fish that swam in unpolluted waters, and are a good source of DHA and EPA omega-3 fatty acids. Ideally, you want fish oil that has been molecularly distilled.

It's important for anyone who is starting to take fish oil pills that they understand that there might be some side effects attached to them. The side effects are not long-lasting. They will eventually disappear as your body adapts to the pills.

You may feel things like bloating and nausea, or experience fishy burps. Of course, everyone is different so some of these things may not bother you at all.

Do your best to find fish oil pills that offer the best bang for the buck. One of the more popular fish oil supplements on the market is Carlson fish oil. They have a good reputation for quality. While it's not the only good fish oil out there, it's a good place to start if you're still not sure what to buy.
