The Truth About Genital Warts

April 7th 2010 18:55
So, you have found that you have genital warts (or HPV) and have hit google looking for answers....

Can you effectively treat genital warts?

Are there any natural remedies to removing genital warts?

Will they go away on their own?

Before I get into answering these questions, understand that HPV is probably the most contracted sexual disease out there. It is highly contagious and can be contracted even when you are wearing protection because the genital warts can be found around the genitalia as well as on or (in the case of females) in.

And contrary to all the bunk and myths that you read online concerning natural remedies to treating genital warts (or warts even), there isn't a "cure" for them. In other words, once you get them, you got them for life. Until doctors determine a cure for the common cold, chances are very good that there will be no cure because the HPV strain is a virus. By the way, this is the same case for warts as well....

The reason why so many believe that there are natural remedies for treating genital warts is because they can go away on their own.

Let me explain....

Just like Herpes (or even a cold), they tend to manifest themselves whenever your immune system is down. When this happens, your body, which can normally contain the virus via the immune system, relents and the warts start to show up.

Because of this, genital warts will typically pop up in times when you are the sickest and the body can't fight it off. This also means that when you get better, they may go away on their own.

The best line of defense for preventing genital warts is abstinence of course. But, that probably won't happen unless you plan on becoming a nun or a hermit. The second best option out there (for women only) is gardisil which removes the risk of contracting HPV.

Preventing contraction is especially important for a woman because some of the HPV strains can cause cervical cancer.

If you already have HPV, the best thing you can do to reduce outbreaks is to eat and do things that boost your immune system.

Regular exercise is one of those things....

Of course, there are other vitamins and minerals you can load up on that will boost up your immune system such as L-custeine, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Zinc, and finally B vitamins and C.

Treatment for genital wars falls into 3 categories, none of which should be considered fail proof.

1.Prescription or topical treatments that will damage and destroy the wart....

2.Surgical Methods to remove wart tissue...

3.Biological methods that actually will target the virus.
