Vaginal Bleaching- New Trend in skin Bleaching?
August 5th 2010 18:26
Popularized by the TV show, Nip/Tuck and first used by porn stars, the purpose of vaginal bleaching (and anal bleaching) is to blend the darker skin both around the private parts to the natural skin color of the body. This form of bleaching first became popular when the "brazilian bikini wax became popular.
In some more rare cases, pregnant women may use this form of skin bleaching because the discoloration is more pronounced (thanks to hormonal changes.)
But is Vaginal and Anal Bleaching Safe?
The answer is actually two fold. For one, just as with all skin bleaching creams, it can be abused. Products such as hydroquinone which have been banned in nearly all countries, have been known to produce some pretty serious consequences when abused.
If you are going to use a hydroquinone product, I would suggest no more than 2%, and you need to make sure that you have no breaches in your skin that you are applying the gel to (hydroquinone is toxic).
Even natural products such as Alpha Arbutin get chemically reduced to hydroquinone when broken down by the body.
Can you use a bleaching cream at home for your private areas?
You can, there are products like south beach skin lightening gel which can be administered from the safety and privacy of your home. But I would probably recommend using a doctor or a licensed skin doctor to treat this type of discoloration.
Oh....and skin bleach products don't make you "cleaner"....they just make you look cleaner.
Other than that, there is not a lot to say about this. Vaginal and anal bleaching hasn't been around long enough to generate a lot of answers and there have been no studies to confirm the long term effects from bleaching these areas of your skin.
